Excited about Green Day’s massive arena tour this December? Well things just got even more thrilling with Aussie rock sensations JET confirmed to tour across Australia as very special guests.
Freshly back on our shores after a USA tour, JET will postpone their Sydney and Melbourne headline shows at the Metro and the Palace to later in December to allow them to hit the road with Green Day.
Promoter Michael Gudinski said “We’re thrilled JET were able to accept Green Day’s invitation to tour Australia with them. Both JET and Green Day are renowned for their explosive live concerts, so these shows are going to be massive.”
JET’s latest album Shaka Rock was released in August (through EMI) to widespread acclaim.
In 2004 Green Day unleashed American Idiot on the world. A boundary smashing, genre confounding work of art, American Idiot changed the face of music, welcoming a new generation of music fans to the cult of Green Day.
In 2009 Green Day returned to stamp their authority on the music world releasing 21st Century Breakdown. Hailed as the jewel in an already impressive crown, 21st Century Breakdown has confirmed Green Day’s status as one of the greatest rock bands in the world.

The release of 21st Century Breakdown signaled the end of a five year silence from Green Day, reigniting Australia and New Zealand’s love affair with Green Day. But the studio isn’t the only place Green Day continue to shine. This will be Green Day’s first visit since 2005’s explosive stadium and arena spectaculars across Australia and New Zealand, which left a chorus of rave reviews;

Anti-scalping measures
Historically Green Day have a reputation for looking after their fans, and their upcoming tour of Australia is no exception, with the band confirming initiatives in conjunction with promoter The Frontier Touring Company to deter ticket scalping for their upcoming shows.
The initiative applies to all Green Day tickets, whether purchased online, via phone or at outlets. As many popular auction sites do not permit items to be sold unless the buyer receives the physical item within one month of purchase, all patrons will be issued with a preliminary receipt as proof of purchase for their tickets only; hard physical tickets will be held back for delivery or collection in early November.
