THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Sunday 3 to Saturday 23 May 2009

The Phantom of the Opera, Broadway's longest running musical and seen by over 80 million people around the world, is now coming to Adelaide!

Presented in all its theatricality with breathtaking sets and costumes, it is not surprising that The Phantom of the Opera is acclaimed as the world's most popular musical. Andrew Lloyd Webber's production makes a triumphant return to Adelaide having played to more than 80 million people in 124 cities around the world.

In 2006, The Phantom of the Opera became the longest running musical on Broadway. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerised by the talents and beauty of a young soprano - Christine, the Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, the Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness and passions collide.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's sweepingly romantic score includes 'The Music of the Night' and 'Think of Me', and will be performed by a stellar Australian and New Zealand cast. This will be a musical masterpiece not to be missed.
